Step into a hands-on creative workshop where participants work in pairs to produce their own miniature stop-motion animations using tabletop green screen stages. Using a mix of craft materials, participants design and build their own characters, props, and scenery before bringing their stories to life frame by frame.
Throughout the session, each workstation provides themed story prompts aligned with the festival theme, while still allowing participants the freedom to create their own short story within the same narrative structure. Stories are developed using a simple six-stage storyboard framework that guides participants through the creative process from idea to final scene.
The workshop focuses on key filmmaking and animation skills including planning a story, designing miniature sets, creating movement through stop-motion animation, and using lighting, framing, and green screen compositing to combine physical models with digital backgrounds.
Regular group check-ins help participants refine their ideas, stay on track, and share progress. The workshop concludes with a showcase of the completed animations and a short reflection on the creative process.
We will also take a short lunch break during the workshop, so please remember to bring a snack.
