The Green Screen workshops at the Cairns Court House precinct were a huge hit among participants last week. Over 40 kids, along with a few parents, came together to create an impressive collection of stop-motion videos using hand-made props and captivating storylines. The workshop was led by experienced professionals who provided guidance and assistance throughout the process.
Participants were able to express their creativity and imagination by bringing their stories to life through the use of green screens and animation techniques. They were able to experiment with different characters and settings, and were encouraged to think critically about how to make their videos stand out. The end result was a collection of unique and engaging videos that showcased the talents and potential of these young filmmakers.
Out of the 16 total videos created during the workshops, 5 have been selected to be part of the Cairns Children's Festival as part of the screenPlay program. This is a real credit to the hard work and dedication of these upcoming stars, and it is a testament to the quality of the videos they produced. The festival is a great platform for young filmmakers to showcase their talents and gain exposure to a wider audience.
This workshop marked the end of our December/January school holiday activities in Cairns, and we look forward to seeing everyone again throughout the school term. We hope that participants continue to explore their passion for filmmaking and that the skills and knowledge they acquired during the workshop will inspire them to create even more impressive videos in the future.
