Day 2 in Hughenden was another fantastic day as we dived into the world of stop motion animation! Stop motion animation is a fascinating technique that allows us to create movies by manipulating objects and figures in small increments and photographing each frame. It is a time-consuming process, but the result is a magical animation that captures the viewer's imagination and leaves a lasting impression.
The workshop started with a brief introduction to stop motion animation and its history. We then moved on to the practical part of the workshop, where we learned about face animations. This exercise helped the kids understand the importance of small movements and the impact they can have on the overall animation.
After mastering the face animations, the kids paired up and tasked with creating their own stop motion animation movie. The creativity and enthusiasm of the kids were infectious, and they came up with some fantastic ideas. From Easter bunnies to saving Rapunzel, even a bit of Dino trouble, the stories they told were varied and imaginative.
We cannot wait for tomorrows workshop!
