Last Friday, we hosted a fun workshop in Cairns for home-schooled kids. The event was all about storyboards and stop-motion animation, and the kids were full of energy and creativity. We started by teaching them some basic animation skills, like how to time their animations and use speech bubbles to show text.
Next, the kids planned their stories using a simple structure with a beginning, middle, and end. This helped them learn how to tell a story and why planning is important. Each child made their own unique animation using different materials like pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, Lego, and colored paper.
The workshop was not just about having fun; it was also a great way for the kids to learn and grow. It showed how important creativity is in learning. We’re excited to host more workshops like this to keep inspiring young minds.
